Voltage Regulation & Power Quality

Automatic Voltage Stabilizer (AVR)

Representative configuration. The offered model, dimensions and interfaces are confirmed with the technical proposal.

Overview

Entogo supplies industrial automatic voltage stabilizers for loads exposed to supply variation. Specify the full input-voltage range, output tolerance, load current, starting duty and bypass arrangement before selecting the kVA.

Entogo supplies this project equipment through manufacturing partners. Entogo Inc. in Toronto coordinates technical selection, supply scope and order support.

Specification Value
Function Automatic regulation of the supply voltage to connected loads
Phase arrangement Single- or three-phase configuration selected for the installation
Frequency 50 / 60 Hz design options
Input envelope Minimum/maximum sustained voltage and duration of excursions
Output requirement Target voltage, tolerance and permissible recovery time
Load rating Continuous kVA plus motor starting, overload and phase imbalance
Bypass and protection Maintenance bypass, over/undervoltage trip and interlocks to agree
Installation Neutral arrangement, ventilation, enclosure and ambient conditions

Reference configurations and selection criteria are shown together. The technical offer defines the matched ratings, tests and guaranteed performance for the ordered unit.

Describe the disturbance before choosing the stabilizer

A voltage log is more useful than a single low-voltage reading. Record sustained variation, short dips, unbalance and the load operating when each event occurs. These conditions determine whether stabilization is the appropriate remedy.

The stabilizer does not provide stored energy during an outage. Where a process must ride through loss of supply, assess UPS or storage separately and coordinate their interfaces.

Applications

  • Industrial equipment
  • Commercial loads
  • Sites with variable supply voltage

Selection & project requirements

Can an AVR replace a UPS during a power failure?
No. A voltage stabilizer regulates an available supply; it does not inherently store energy to maintain output during an outage. A ride-through requirement needs an appropriately designed UPS or energy-storage solution.
Why does the minimum input voltage matter for sizing?
Supplying the same output power at lower input voltage requires more input current. The acceptable kVA across the operating envelope must therefore be confirmed, rather than assuming the nominal-voltage rating applies under every supply condition.
What is the difference between accuracy and response?
Output tolerance states the acceptable voltage deviation. Response or correction time describes how the equipment reacts to a change. Specify both against the load sensitivity; a tight steady-state tolerance does not by itself guarantee fast dip correction.
What should be checked on a three-phase installation?
Identify line-to-line and line-to-neutral loads, neutral requirements, phase imbalance and motor starting. Agree phase control, protection and bypass operation so the selected unit fits the actual plant distribution system.

For Canadian and US projects, include the utility specification, service frequency and required approvals. State whether the order is for the transformer alone or an integrated equipment package.
