Overview

A high-efficiency amorphous-metal-core dry-type transformer with very low no-load loss, low noise and low partial discharge — 30–2500 kVA, medium voltage to 35 kV class stepping to 480/208 V, fire-safe. Designed to UL 1562, CSA C9/C802.2 and DOE 10 CFR 431; UL/CSA certifiable.

This amorphous-core dry-type transformer uses an amorphous-metal core to drive no-load (standby) losses well below conventional silicon-steel designs — clearing the U.S. DOE 10 CFR 431 efficiency standard with margin and lowering lifetime energy cost on loss-evaluated utility and LEED-driven projects. Ratings span 30 to 2500 kVA, medium voltage to the 35 kV class stepping down to 480 or 208Y/120 V at 60 Hz.

Low noise, low temperature rise and low partial discharge (≤ 10 pC) make the oil-free, fire-safe build a strong fit for high-rises, transit hubs, hospitals, industrial plants and underground distribution rooms. Cast-resin or ventilated construction, NEMA 1 / 2 indoor or 3R outdoor enclosures, and the insulation system are specified per project. Designed and built to UL 1562, NEMA and CSA C9 / C802.2, with UL (cULus) / CSA certification available on request.

Key features

  • Amorphous-metal core cuts no-load (standby) losses well below conventional silicon-steel — clears DOE 10 CFR 431 with margin for loss-evaluated bids.
  • Designed and built to UL 1562, NEMA and CSA C9 / C802.2, 60 Hz — UL (cULus) / CSA certification available on request.
  • Low noise, low temperature rise and low partial discharge (≤ 10 pC) for occupied buildings.
  • Fire-safe, oil-free dry-type construction for urban, indoor and underground installations.

FAQ

Common questions

Why choose an amorphous-core transformer?
The amorphous-metal core has very low no-load (standby) loss — typically well below conventional grain-oriented silicon steel — so it clears DOE 10 CFR 431 efficiency with margin and lowers lifetime energy cost in loss-evaluated utility and LEED bids.
Is it suitable for indoor installation?
Yes. It is an oil-free dry-type unit with low noise, low temperature rise and low partial discharge (≤ 10 pC), specified for high-rises, transit, hospitals and other occupied or fire-sensitive buildings.
What ratings and standards apply?
30 – 2500 kVA, medium voltage to the 35 kV class stepping to 480 / 208 V, 60 Hz. Designed to UL 1562, NEMA and CSA C9 / C802.2; UL (cULus) / CSA certification available on request.
